台湾のクスノキCinnamomum camphoraとソウシジュAcacia confuseから記載された。日本では本州から記録されており、５～１０月頃にクスノキの葉に発生する。マレーシアのPleocnemia irregularis[オシダ科 Dryopteridaceae]から得られた１メスを基に記載されたH. pectinarius (Kudo, 1997)は本種のシノニムとされている。

This species was described from Cinnamomum camphora and Acacia confuse in Taiwan. It has been collected from the leaves of C. camphora in Honshu, Japan and it occurs on the plant in May to October. H. pectinarius (Kudo, 1997), which was described based on a single female collected form Pleocnemia irregularis [Dryopteridaceae] of Malaysia, is a synonym of this species.
